When we were waiting for the typhoon Nida to come, my roommates and I prepared dinner together and had a lovely evening. Haha we had steamed eggs that had a little bit the taste of pudding, German mashed potatoes after my mom’s recipe to which we later added sweetened condensed milk, mussels with winter melon, a super delicious soft and buttery tasting fish we bought at a Chinese Walmart and rice with corn. We were perfectly prepared for the typhoon and the next day off. After dinner and while it was windy outside and the rain was pouring my friends grabbed the guitar and sang some Chinese songs, one of them called 那些花儿 (“these flowers”) which I recorded.
