This blog starts with my trip to China. I’m staying six weeks, mainly in Shenzhen, north of Hongkong, and I will spend a few days in Changsha. It is the first time that I travel to China, or even to Asia. The reason for my trip is a scholarship I got to participate in a NGO-exchange between Europe and China. The NGO in Bonn, Germany, that I work for, and the Chinese NGO here have very similar goals, which are the conservation and preservation of cultural heritage in both rural and urban areas.
I’m excited to live in an environment that differs a lot from what I’m used to see in the western world. And of course, I had lectures about Asia, but the live experience from a geographical point of view is just thrilling and inspiring! How lucky I am…!
